A busy day in London

There is a real buzz about London these days which makes it hard to reconcile talk of tough economic times. Yesterday proved a bit of a whirlwind .

After a busy morning in the Optician office working on the new website and Optrafair I headed off to London. First stop was Specsavers' Spring Summer showcase.

It's interesting that from a company which, to date, has had a reputation for own branding it has acquired a stable of strong licensed brands.

In the room were Red or Dead, Quiksilver, Roxy and some new brands such as  Cheap Monday and Firetrap. They had brand ambassador Gok Wan showing of his new range and other style gurus.

This is set to become a regular feature so watch this space.

Having to cut my visit to the Showcase short I faced a brisk walk up Regent's Street through the crowds to Oxford Circus to meet VSP. They have been partnering with Google Glass. A very neat and interesting second generation product was discussed and tried on. See Optician for more details. Possible appearance at Optrafair too?

googleglass1  Over afternoon tea the future of the technology was discussed. When the conversation ended a woman, who just happened to be in the cafe, came across to quiz us on the product.  I sense this product will be welcomed by the public.
