A vampish effort from Parasite Optical

It takes a fair bit to shock the Optician products desk, but the new Vamp sunglass (top) from Parasite Optical left us reeling.

The manufacturer said the frame 'showed off its DNA: a mix of techno-organic and a hybrid of animal and vegetal, which came from imaginary lands.' Looking at the design, it's hard to disagree with them.

The design features a distinctive flower motif on the temples, however the most distinctive features are the insect 'legs' which spawn from the front of the frame. These give the wearer a predatory look - perfect for the forthcoming party season.

Slightly more conventional are the Orion and Hyperion (bottom) sunglasses, fitted with polarised lenses. The inspiration for the designs is said to have come from futuristic video game weapons, which tend to have chunky, angular shapes.
