The race for contact lens supremacy took an entertaining twist this morning when Alcon invited Optician for a media briefing on its new Dailies Total1 contact lens.

Initial graphs, produced by Alcon, showcased how Total1 boasted a higher breathability and water content than its rivals.

But it was a final test, whereby the slippery little fellas took to the pool, that would really separate the men from the boys. Held down by a pin-size weight the contact lenses glided downstream through the water to prove once and for all which contact lens had superior 'lubricity'.
