This week, technology seems to have become a recurring theme.
I have spent much of the last week playing with the OrCam unit, capable of reading text or describing most objects it is pointed at.

Take a look at my report on page 30 of this issue and see what you think. This sort of device is more than likely to continue acquiring greater functionality and, hopefully, become available at an increasingly acceptable price as demand rises. The OrCam is essentially an audio enhancer rather than affecting visual input.

So, what about advances in vision enhancement? Painful as it is to recommend anything in the populist media, but there was a nice feature discussing the major advances in technology and virtual reality being used to help those with vision loss (Telegraph 11.08.19).
