I couldn't ignore this story as it was one of the most popular on the BBC.co.uk website yesterday, and that is the news that successful animal trials have taken place of contact lenses that project images in front of the eye. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-15817316 Initial reports of the project at Seattle's Washington University suggest that tests in rabbits have gone well. In fairness these early tests were not in terms of reading floating texts and emails, they were for safety. Suggested applications of the lenses are for drivers who will be able to see journey directions or their vehicle's speed on the windscreen. While there's still plenty of work to be done, such as finding a good power source, this concept has clearly sparked some interest.
