There’s a wealth of information in the latest Mintel report on the UK optical goods market (news) and some of it could be vital for the health of your business.

The good news is that the optical market is growing. This is thanks to the growing population which, at the younger end is boosting contact lenses, and on the senior side supporting the sale of more complex lenses and contact lenses. Competition in the market means growth won’t be as great as consumer expenditure in general, but it appears there is a place for everyone. Patient loyalty is still strong and there is scepticism about online purchasing, of spectacles at least.
