Russian oligarchs' yachts are currently the favoured spot for a little off piste cross-party fraternising in the world of politics and it seems that the optical power brokers have also been getting their heads together after hours (see news).
The optical bodies agree that singing from the same hymn sheet has advantages. A single, clear message is sent from optics to government and consequently the ideas going forward have more traction.
But how far can this go before mergers take place? Presumably the half dozen or so lead optical bodies feel they have distinct constituencies to represent. Can an employers' grouping such as FODO be at one with an individuals' grouping such as the AOP?
