Essilor aims to clear the fog

With the cold winter months now upon us, fogging glasses will once again start to become a more of an issue for spectacle wearers. Essilor has come to the rescue, however, with the release of its new Optifog lenses.

It claimed the Optifog lenses prevented spectacles steaming up through the use of a hydrophilic layer which offers the same anti-glare, anti-dust and anti-scratch properties as Crizal Forte. The lenses are used in conjunction with an activator that prevents fog forming for up to a week.

Hubert Sagnieres, CEO of Essilor said: 'With the new lenses, millions of consumers will now have access to a solution which will eliminate problems of lenses fogging up. This ground breaking innovation is the fruit of our ongoing R&D efforts to help everyone see the world better.'
