Surprise, surprise, patients want to be able to see their GP when it is convenient for them.
The GP Patient Survey found that around 17 per cent of those asked said surgeries were not open at convenient times. The Labour Party, you know, the guys who renegotiated the GP contract, said this dissatisfaction could exsit among 7.5 million people and called on the government to sort it all out.
Opticians are perhaps one of the more accessible areas of NHS care. They are open in places that people want and at times that are convenient.
Perhaps its has something to do with them having to treat patients as customers and present themselves in an appealing way to the public?
