How to get involved in Eye Health Week

Optician editor Chris Bennett quite rightly comments, that work needs to be done to raise awareness of the role optical professions play in dealing with eye health problems, while also questioning the lack of progress on this front by the various optical bodies.

While not wanting to get drawn on what others do or don’t do, I would like to remind readers that one organisation, National Eye Health Week, aims to increase awareness of the importance of visiting an optometrist and the effect of lifestyle choices on eye health. We also have the aim to get as many in the industry as we can behind this effort, as together we will achieve more. We are grateful to all those who already support the set-up of the week, including financial and practical support from many of the optical bodies, and of course would welcome everyone to get involved.
