Letter: Celebrating 125 years of getting information to market

Optician has played a key role in keeping UK practitioners abreast with the latest information in the field. It was important because information could get published immediately (instead of the 12 month-plus lead time for refereed journals), it was very professionally produced in full colour, and leading contact luminaries were happy to publish there.

Personally, CLM was an important vehicle to convey my ideas in the early part of my career, and remained an important platform for sharing thinking, especially in relation to contact lens complications, later in my career. So congratulations to Optician on its 125th birthday, to the legacy of CLM, and for being a great partner in my personal academic journey.
