Letter: Not my view of locums

I write in response to the featured letter in Optician, November 4, 2016.

The letter writer presents his credentials and informs us that he is also an expert witness in matters of fitness to practice. He proceeds to ventilate his wrath against ‘test and go’ locums.

I myself am long in the tooth, have been employed in the independent as well as multiple sector, have owned joint venture practices with the largest multiple and have also been the owner of an independent practice. I am now a locum working part time equating to 140 days or thereabouts per year, including hospital work.
