I wrote to Optician last year detailing the farcical grandfathering arrangements and am obviously delighted to read that we are to have new arrangements in force as early as July 1.
However, I was a bit confused to see the DoH claiming that grandfathering was introduced (all along) as a temporary measure and tell Optician that 'the restrictions no longer reflect the reality of service provision'.
I would like to know what reality did they ever reflect and why the DoH is simply unable to admit to the grandfather of all cock-ups.
