We were therefore disappointed that this reprint of a Contact Lens Spectrum supplement, sponsored by CooperVision, seemed to depart from that objective and instead supported a one-sided review which concludes that silicone hydrogel DDs should be the only choice for every patient, totally ignoring a considerable contemporary evidence base concerning the continued merits of some hydrogel DDs. It is also disappointing that the article, as printed in the Optician, made no mention of the original supplement sponsorship.
