Media asks the media shocker

One of my bugbears is journalists asking other journalists what they think about issues of the day rather than asking the people involved.

So imagine my surprise when.....following Private Eye's dig at Specsavers  I receive a call from a BBC journalist asking if the facts in the report were right and what the rules were on registration with the GOC. After suggesting he call the GOC and ask them I pointed out that we had already covered that part of the story (News 28.09.12) and there was a full quote from the GOC on the matter in Optician. I then explained that the story could be found on our website and then how to search for it.
