Mind control, a major wrong

The world of contact lenses just became considerably darker with this vision of the future where virtual reality contact lenses are being used for mind control purposes. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2194742/As-Google-prepares-launch-smart-glasses-filmmaker-shows-chilling-vision-happen-wrong.html Don't panic. it's just the Daily Mail, and the reality control contact lenses are the subject of a short film entitled 'Sight' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lK_cdkpazjI, inspired by augmented reality glasses like those being developed by Google. Some of the possibilities of augmented reality may be quite useful should such contact lenses evey come to fruition, such as seeing the contents of items in the fridge, allowing the wearer to try on their clothes virtually, or at a push, checking out a contact's social media profile or even name (now that would be a great help from time to time). Some of the other imaginings, especially patching into the other person's virtual reality lenses and taking control of them are very much in the realms of science fiction. That said, the way the business of dating has changed in the past 15 or so years with the internet and mobile phones to make things easier, never say never.
