Moneo writes: Crossing the Rubicon

Over the years I have come to realise that most optometrists, and very many dispensing opticians are very conservative in their outlook. I don’t mean this in a political way but in a more general manner. Just one look at our approach to sight testing over the past decades and our approach to contact lens promotion shows just how stuck in our ways we are. Why this is I don’t really know but maybe it is that conservatism fits us to be the type of personality needed to do the job we do. The problem with this is that when it comes to change that change can prove to be very stressful for all involved.
