Postcode eye care

Bill Harvey

I worked a day at the RNIB centrwe yesterday, something I enjoy doing over the summer months when teaching is quieter. I could not bu help notice that the clinic is still busy with Camden PCT referrals where there is close working relationships with an excellent team of rehab staff. Islington, however, appear to have just one rehab worker left and very few referrals. Differential savings plans by PCTs always leads to postcode variation in levels of care. As the white paper is resurrected, PLEASE look for more uniform national strategies when it comes to eye service.
