As Optician goes to press, National Eye Health Week (NEHW) is in its second day and early signs point towards some decent early engagement from within the profession through practices, charities and PR firms.
I’ve always said NEHW’s best ambassadors are the practitioners and have sometimes been critical in the past of attempts to court mainstream media without truly mobilising the profession.
It’s early days, but the blend seems to be much better so far, and hopefully NEHW organisers will be in Optician next week talking about what a resounding success it has been.
As awareness drives go, Love Your Lenses Week continues to surprise me. A total of 233 practices around the world were fully on-board with delivering positive messaging and safety advice about contact lens wear earlier this month.
