The Big Optometry Blog: September brings a change in the weather and an increase in training

On September 23^rd I will be taking part in the Sussex Original Triathlon, it’s a half Ironman distance event and I will be raising money for Blind Veterans UK.

It’s been quite a while since I completed a half Ironman distance event so I’m keen to get a decent amount of training in to make sure I finish it.

As ever the hardest thing about triathlon isn’t the individual distances that have to be covered: 2km swim, 80km cycle and the 20km of a half Marathon. The tricky bit is putting it all together, getting the kit right and getting the nutrition right.
