Tried and Tested: B&S anti-fog gel

Optician tried out one option for avoiding steamed up lenses

One of the most annoying features of spectacle wear is the tendency for lenses to fog up in cold weather or steamy atmospheres. While some high profile solutions exist Dibble Optical said this problem can be solved with B&S anti-fog gel. A small amount of the gel is put onto each side of the lens and then rubbed with the special cloth supplied. Any lens can be treated.

The test was carried out in a situation where fogging was a known problem, a cold morning’s bicycle commute, on a pair of wrapped specs glazed with a white Transitions VI.

A squirt of gel, which has the consistency of light white grease, was applied and then buffed until no trace could be seen on the lens.
