One does not have to look far in the media at the moment to see various doom and gloom reports on the state of the economy. Whether it is the increasing price of food and petrol or a reduction in house prices, the media feeds on the next economic news story, often painting the worst scenario. Undoubtedly rising cost of living affects everyone, but am I alone in thinking that a 10 per cent fall in house prices will at least make them more affordable to many young people and the rise in petrol price will start to reduce our reliance on cars?
