Autumn is traditionally a time when books are published in time for reading during the long winter evenings.  Fortunately for optometrists there will be no need to visit the bookshops this year with the arrival on doormats of The College of Optometrists “Guidance for professional practice”.  I have to say it is a weighty tome, and although not something that has you turning the pages in anticipation of what happens next, all 154 pages are very relevant to everyday practice.  The guidance is important bed time reading for all optometrists, as it has the potential to affect their livelihood.
