Overseas conferences allow collaborative working not just locally but globally

Writing this on my return journey from two overseas conferences, it struck me that the wider world of optics is universal in its quest to serve patients with visual impairment by providing better vision by whatever means we can; it may be supplying spectacles, contact lenses, low vision aids or just some friendly advice, but, whatever the needs of our patients, widening our horizons can help us serve them better.

I had the honour of representing ABDO at the Association of Dispensing Opticians New Zealand (ADONZ) conference in Auckland where 116 delegates met together for three days for education, professional development and the odd glass of excellent New Zealand wine!
