If you work in an optical practice and are bewildered by the terminology around health reform, then don’t worry; you are in good company.

A survey earlier this month found more than a third of MPs do not understand the NHS jargon surrounding new care models and have called for ‘concepts to be explained more clearly’.

With the increasing medicalisation of optical practices, one way to get up to speed is to join your Local Optical Committee (LOC) and attend the National Optical Conference (NOC). (Locsu also has a useful jargon-buster on the training pages of our website.)

LOCs are gearing up for next month’s NOC at Chesford Grange, Kenilworth, Warwickshire, on the November 14-15, 2018.
