Ironically, for an organisation whose main remit is the health of our eyes, it is arguably hearing, not sight, which is the most important of all the senses for the BCLA.
Why? Well, it is absolutely vital that we listen to our members. What they say, what they tell us, what they ask of us – we need to hear it, we need to listen to it and we need to act upon it.
For many years we have held the vast majority of our meetings in London. We’re based there, it’s convenient, it’s practical. For us.
But that’s arguably not the case for many of our members. They are unlikely to travel four hours to the capital for a one hour lecture.
