Workplace Guide: Levelling up to lower pressure

Professional upskilling is an attractive prospect to many in the eye care field – certainly those who are not part of the 37% who have already obtained an additional qualification.  

Among the most popular are higher qualifications in glaucoma, with 31% of respondents to Optician’s 2024 Workplace Guide Survey identifying those courses as the most appealing.  

Additionally, according to this year’s General Optical Council Business Registrant Survey, glaucoma – which is currently only offered by 33% of practices – is the fastest-growing area of optical services, with over half of all businesses set to offer it within the next two years.
