Conference: BCLA reaches out overseas - latest stop the Netherlands

The British Contact Lens Association has extended its presence beyond the UK by collaborating with the Nederlands Contactlens Congres. Optician reports on the BCLA scientific sessions and some of the key topics at the meeting

In a year without its usual Clinical Conference and Exhibition, the BCLA seems to be everywhere. Last month it teamed up with the College of Optometrists to offer dedicated contact lens sessions at Optometry Tomorrow and this month it will run hands-on workshops at Optrafair 2016. A new BCLA UK event in June is aimed at building confidence and practical skills in contact lens fitting.

Away from its home turf, the BCLA has been busy building bridges overseas. Since 2014 it has partnered with International Vision Expo to hold a joint BCLA/Vision Expo Global Contact Lens Forum in the US. And in September the first BCLA Asia will take place in collaboration with the Hong Kong Cornea and Contact Lens Society.
