Eyespace and Aspinal of London launched their sunglass collection at a celebrity-packed event in London’s West End last month, Chris Bennett reports

London Fashion Week has established itself as a growing force on the international style circuit and this year provided Eyespace with a unique opportunity to showcase its tie up with Aspinal of London.

The venture marks the first move into eyewear for Aspinal and provides Eyespace with the opportunity to pick up on Aspinal’s young, progressive, affordable luxury vibe. The 14 piece line up across both male and female styles draws on design cues from the Aspinal catalogue and creates a large and luxurious entry into the world of eyewear for Aspinal of London.

Aspinal of London is the kind of name that conjures up historic links to the classic style of the landed gentry going back a hundred years. A look in its West London window exudes that hand-crafted luxury feel. However, the brand was founded in 2001 by chairman Iain Burton with the creative direction of Mariya Dykalo and together they have established an accessible fashion label with a young feel. The brand made its name in travel accessories, leather diaries and covers before moving into handbags and other products.
