Mike Hale talks to Neil Retallic about the launch of Menicon’s Miru 1day Flat Pack toric

Even in the globalised world of 2020, some Japanese consumer products, particularly those of a more complex nature, still exude distinctive characteristics such as elegance, attention to detail and precision. It is fair to say that Menicon’s Miru 1day Flat Pack toric, which is launching into the UK this September, falls into that category.

‘The product was developed at Menicon’s headquarters in Japan,’ says Neil Retallic, professional services director Europe at Menicon. ‘I think Japanese companies generally are very proud of things like reproducibility and accuracy, and like to make things to as high a standard as possible by utilising robotics. I think this shows in Menicon’s products and technology. This is the version for astigmatism and it follows on from the spherical lens, which was first released in the UK back in 2013. The toric has already proved popular in Japan, where consumers tend to be technologically driven and like innovation, and it has also performed well in the US.’
