‘Everything we do here in Wrexham is focused on the independent,’ says Martin Batho managing director of Hoya Lens UK. ‘From everything we manufacture to the sales team to the customer services and the Faculty that we are sitting in now.’
The Faculty takes pride of place at the entrance to the plant. The brightly furnished suite features all the elements of a modern practice mixed with a training facility to which customers are invited (see Looking at Labs 08.04.16).
‘Practices expect from us all the usual elements: quality of product, new lens design, service,’ says Batho, ‘but increasingly they are asking for support with their practice needs too.’
