Known worldwide as the birthplace of the Bard, Stratford-upon-Avon is far from a typical English town. Approximately 2.5 million tourists take to its worn cobbled streets every year, transporting the small town into a hub of activity filled with theatre listings and seasonal festivals.
‘It’s great fun working in Stratford-upon-Avon,’ says Specsavers ophthalmic director Jonathan Belcher. ‘We’re right in the middle of the town so we get lots of people walking by the practice. A lot of tourists come in who’ve gone away and have lost their glasses or contact lenses, even some who have dropped glasses in the river. We manage by having a very flexible approach and doing our very best to see them.’
