From the outbreak of Zika virus in January, continued conflict in Syria, Yemen and East Ukraine and extremist attacks in Turkey, Tunisia, Germany, Belgium and France the past year has been one which included many catastrophes. Add the political shocks produced by the Brexit vote on June 23, and subsequent resignation of David Cameron resulting in the election of Theresa May as leader of the Conservative Party and so Prime Minister.
Then the more recent prospect of a new era across the Atlantic with the unexpected election of Donald Trump as president of the United States in November. Surely 2016 will be remembered as a year which brought much turmoil and many reasons for uncertainty.
