Optician Awards 2017: Timing is key to success

Serendipity is a powerful thing so having the right material in the modality at the right time was a winning combination for Alcon and its Dailies Total1 Multifocal contact lens.

Back in 2014 when Alcon won the Contact Lens Product of the Year Award with Dailies Total1 its material led it to being described as a game changer by one of the judges. Fast forward three years and it is the multifocal design and its success with the presbyopic patient that won accolades from the judges. The right product at the right time said one judge.

Dailies Total1 Multifocal is made from the same water gradient material as the former winner Dailies Total1. The winning material is now combined with the market leading 4 Precision Profile Design and Alcon felt that meant it was the right to enter in the multifocal variant as the Contact Lens Product of the Year.
