Since the withdrawal of ReNu with MoistureLoc Bausch & Lomb has offered a 2-for-1 replacement offer to optical practitioners but what will the average patient do?

Unless they are contacted by their practice they will have to rely on seeing a product recall advertisement in the national media.

One of the companies quickest off the mark following the withdrawal of MoistureLoc was Postoptics. People on its database received an email informing them that if they had ReNu with MoistureLoc they could return it, have it replaced with AMO’s Complete and receive a free AMO Complete trial pack. The offer was made regardless of where the ReNu with MoistureLoc had been bought.

Optician decided to put Postoptics to the test and within hours of its email being received we called the Postoptics hotline to tell them we had a 120ml bottle of MoistureLoc.

There was absolutely no quibble. The operator checked the name and address of the ‘customer’ and lo and behold a couple of days later a package arrived containing a trial pack of AMO Complete with a form and a pre-paid envelope.

On the form were instructions to stick the label from the MoistureLoc on the reverse and return it in the SAE. By return would be sent replacement AMO Complete. Simple.
