Photochromics: Change for the better

Hoya’s Sensity 2 photochromic lens is said to benefit from the company’s Precision Technology, a microscopically accurate spin-coating process for superior adhesion. It also features Stabilight Technology, which is said to allow consistent performance regardless of climate and light conditions, while also providing excellent glare reduction and 100% UV protection. The light adaptive lens darkens to a category-3 sun lens tint and reverts to what is described as ‘an extremely clear state indoors’. Key benefits for patients include an improved fadeback speed, said to be close to twice as fast as the original Sensity lens, and intense natural colour options.
