Last month a law was passed challenging the basic premise of the NHS, moving it further away from the founding principle of it being free at the point of delivery.

The NHS has now been empowered legally to disburse money and services as it pleases. This is going to lead to some profound implications in terms of people being given a budget and allowing them to manage it themselves. I am sure optics has not even bothered to look at the possibilities that will arrive at its doorstep when the autocratic PCT regimes start developing their whims.
