are just some of enjoyable aspects of the Optix Conference.
Sean Rai-Roche reports from this year’s event
On a beautiful sunny day in late March delegates began to arrive at the Celtic Manor Resort in South Wales for the 12th annual Optix Conference. Situated in lush, green surroundings and spanning 2,000 acres, the estate contains a world class golf course, which, in 2010, became the first site in Wales to host the Ryder Cup. The luxurious and extravagant setting was the perfect backdrop for a conference that saw the likes of Sir Bob Geldof, Richard Reed CBE, Farrah Storr and Simon Woodroffe OBE deliver key note addresses to delegates.
More than 380 practice owners and eye care professionals attended the conference, which ran March 25 to 27. After an afternoon presentation and round table discussion on audiology, a topic that would be revisited on subsequent days, delegates were treated to a delicious informal dinner in the Grand Caernarfon Suite.
