Those practitioners regularly working in high-street practice will be more than familiar with at least one incarnation of the popular Henson series of field screeners. Initially one of the first semi-automated versions of a tachistoscopic static central field screener, the Henson had evolved through many models such that the 6000 now boasts an array of full threshold and suprathreshold programmes. All are easily used by professional and non-professional staff alike, and are ideal for either general field screening or more involved assessment of glaucoma suspects. While the Humphrey VFA is considered the gold standard in hospital and dedicated glaucoma programmes, the Henson still maintains a position of popularity in the high-street practice. fig2.JPG
