The association researches why barriers to employing dispensing opticians exist
As part of a research project, the Association of British Dispensing Opticians (ABDO) has asked for practice owners’ and managers’ opinions on the benefits of employing dispensing opticians and why they may consider not to.
ABDO’s head of communications and IT, Antonia Chitty, said: ‘We want to learn more about the difficulties employers have when considering taking on a dispensing optician (DO), and what stops them, as well as exploring more about the contributions DOs make in practice.’
It has offered £100 for an hour-long confidential interview and stated that participants (ABDO employees exempt) will be selected from those who respond to ensure a spread of roles and locations. To apply, fill in the survey at bit.ly/39VxjT5.
