AI and AMD on agenda at charity conference

Talks from the Macular Society's annual event, held online, are now ready on demand

Macular Society’s annual Hope for the Future conference was held online in September, highlighting developments in artificial intelligence, stem cell therapy and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) treatments.

Among speakers was Professor Pete Coffey, from the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London, who presented stem cell studies which aimed to improve vision for AMD patients.

Macular Society chief executive Cathy Yelf said: ‘It was an honour to welcome so many experts to our conference. It again proved a wonderful opportunity for us all to find out about the incredible work taking place and the progress towards new treatments what will ultimately Beat Macular Disease.
