Macular Society’s annual Hope for the Future conference was held online in September, highlighting developments in artificial intelligence, stem cell therapy and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) treatments.
Among speakers was Professor Pete Coffey, from the Institute of Ophthalmology at University College London, who presented stem cell studies which aimed to improve vision for AMD patients.
Macular Society chief executive Cathy Yelf said: ‘It was an honour to welcome so many experts to our conference. It again proved a wonderful opportunity for us all to find out about the incredible work taking place and the progress towards new treatments what will ultimately Beat Macular Disease.
‘The feedback we have received from members and supporters has been delightful to hear and we thank everyone who joined us to help make the 2022 conference such a success.’
