AIO conference sets date in Warwickshire

Its annual conference will take place at Chesford Grange in Warwickshire

The Association of Independent Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (AIO) has confirmed that its annual conference will take place at Chesford Grange in Warwickshire on October 9-10.

Its programme will be published in April and include clinical and business lectures, alongside a series of CET discussion workshops and peer review sessions.

Dr Christian French, AIO chair, said: ‘As an organisation that was founded on “Standing Conferences” in the 1950s, our inability to hold a conference in 2020 left a big hole for all our members.

‘As the signs of emerging from the Covid pandemic look increasingly positive, we have bitten the bullet and are proceeding with the organisation of the 2021 AIO Conference in the lovely rural surrounds of Warwickshire.’

He added the programme will provide an opportunity to debate the future of the world of optics set against the background of issues such as the pandemic and the GOC Education Strategic Review.
