Alcon has launched Precision1, a daily disposable contact lens made from silicone hydrogel that is available in sphere and toric.
The new product incorporated the company’s SmartSurface technology, which is a micro-thin layer of moisture at the lens surface designed to support a stable tear film all day.
Jonathon Bench, head of professional affairs, Alcon UK & Ireland, said: ‘With the launch of Precision1, we now have a daily disposable contact lens option that meets the needs of new and existing contact lens wearers and delivers an outstanding wearing experience.’
A patient support programme powered by augmented reality had been made accessible by scanning the packaging’s QR code on a smartphone.
Alcon said it provided support in an immersive and engaging way with information available on application and removal, facts about contact lens wear and a learning lab.
