BCLA announces keynote speakers

​Professor James Wolffsohn and Dr Orla Murphy will speak at the event in June

Professor James Wolffsohn and Dr Orla Murphy will present the key addresses at the British Contact Lens Association’s clinical conference in June.

Wolffsohn will present the BCLA Medal, which is awarded for outstanding achievement in the contact lens and anterior eye field, and Murphy will deliver the Irving Fatt memorial lecture.

Luke Stevens-Burt, chief executive of the BCLA, said: ‘These two lectures will undoubtedly be among the highlights of our programme as we emerge from lockdown and I am sure they will resonate with eye care professionals around the world.’

Wolffsohn is associate pro-vice chancellor of Aston University and has published over 215 peer reviewed academic papers. Murphy is an optometrist who researches dry eye and demodex blepharitis, and lecturers at Technological University Dublin.
