BCLA awards recognise research and achievement

A call for nominations has been made by the BCLA

Researchers and eye care practitioners have been urged to nominate their peers for the British Contact Lens Association’s (BCLA) research awards.

Nominations need to be submitted by November 8 for the BCLA Medal and the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecture that will be presented at the BCLA’s conference and exhibition in Manchester next year.

Indie Grewal, president of the BCLA, said: ‘These awards provide us with an opportunity to reward those pioneers and changemakers who are transforming 21st century eye care. This is a chance for the innovators to take centre stage, showcase their work and receive the accolades they so thoroughly deserve.’

The BCLA Medal is awarded for outstanding achievement in the contact lenses and anterior eye field, while the Irving Fatt Memorial Lecturer recognises postgraduates who have continued with research in their career.
