A Boots Opticians franchisee has vowed to keep her practice open as an independent after the multiple decided to close the practice in the new year.
Optometrist Cathy Barnett said she was shocked when she heard Boots’ decision, but said leaving the Chard practice was ‘not an option’.
‘I have been working for Boots for 23 years and just knew that someone had to fight to keep it open as I didn’t feel I could abandon my patients Ω they would have to find another optician or travel to Taunton,’ Barnett told the Chard and Illminster news.
Boots Opticians confirmed the closure and said it had contacted patients and transferred their records to another Boots practice.
