Cameron Optometry appointment

Edinburgh-based Cameron Optometry has welcomed the appointment of the practice’s sixth optometrist.

Having worked at Optical Express and the Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Alexandra Young has also achieved an independent prescribing qualification alongside her MSc in primary care ophthalmology from The University of Edinburgh. Young was recently accepted onto Ulster University’s paediatric eye care certificate course and said that she planned to study for a glaucoma qualification next year.

Managing director of Cameron Optometry, Ian Cameron, said: ‘We are pleased to be able to attract an optometrist of Alexandra’s calibre, who comes with an incredibly impressive CV. I worked with her during lockdown as part of the Edinburgh Emergency Eye Care Treatment Centre, so have seen first-hand the care she shows to her patients and her expertise in dealing with the most complex of cases.’
