Cataract clinic plans Newcastle opening

Optegra has announced it will open a new eye clinic in Newcastle that specialised in NHS cataract treatment as the eye care provider aimed to reduce patient waiting times.

Marie Priest has been appointed as clinic manager and has experience in youth and residential care settings, as well as ophthalmic theatres.

‘This is the perfect time to open this new clinic and be able to offer this life-changing surgery within just weeks rather than months. It’s an amazing opportunity for local people, and I love that we build relationships with our patients,’ Priest said.

The clinic would provide all stages of cataract care, including pre-operative testing after diagnosis through to surgery and post-operative care either at the clinic or at their local optical practice.
