CCEHC welcomes report on eye health and visual impairment

The Clinical Council for Eye Health Commissioning (CCEHC) has welcomed the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Eye Health and Visual Impairment’s report entitled ‘See the light.’

The report highlighted issues that have arisen from increasing demands and constrained abilities to provide safe and effective care by clinicians.

In response, the CCEHC has put forward recommendations for the need for strategic planning, provision and commissioning of eye health and care sectors, and also for NHS England to support and build on recent initiatives from the eye health sector. It is working with the Systems and Assurance Framework for Eye-health (SAFE) and with NHS provider organisations to promote and implement these recommendations into mainstream processes.
