Outgoing master of the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers, Chris Hunt (pictured right), presented Lord Mayor of London Alderman Fiona Woolf (left) with new spectacles during a ceremony late last month - his final duty in the role.
The presentation was made at Mansion House, London, with Ivan and Hayley Wainer from the Lord Mayor’s opticians Hawkes & Wainer both in attendance.
Christine Tompkins has since been installed as the next master of the WCSM – only the second female master in the company’s 385 year history.
Emma Middleton was named upper warden and Don Grocott as renter warden. Hunt has been appointed as the new chairman of the Optical Confederation.
